I had a pretty decent experience. The airport isn't huge but has got all the infrastructure and facilities an international airport should possess. You can straight walk in to the car rentals after you get down at the arrivals. I liked that as we didn't had to walk much. All the major car rentals are available in the kiosk. The baggage collection was fast. Would definitely recommend.
First time arriving and departing from this small airport. It’s is surprising large and modern given how few flights there are daily.
Had a rental car which is a short walk outside thru some covered walkways to the parking lot. The rental parking is not covered so if it’s raining or snowing take that into account.
My departure was mid afternoon on a Monday and there were only 5 departures listed in the afternoon.
Land side has plenty of seating, a general merchandise store and a Tim Hortons. It’s open, lots of natural lighting and quiet.
Security was a breeze although as often the case with small airports they REALLY check everything.
Air side is quite large with 10 gates and plenty of seating, tables for work on laptops and lots of power outlets and USB. Wifi is free and fairly speedy at 25Mbps up and down.
There was one restaurant, a Tim Hortons, several stores and a Maple Leaf lounge for air Canada aeroplan members.
Overall an impressive terminal for such a small airport at only 1.5 million passengers per year
The airport terminal was well -laid out with good signage and directions. Staff persons were friendly and helpful. There is also a visitors' desk to assist travelers and I appreciated the help for several needs.
I am freezing in the Maple Lounge here. I am told that even if you turn the heating on, the air conditioner works even harder. The air conditioning is central and they cannot turn it down. Wonder why?
The staff is really nice and helpful.
It's not the greatest airport, but you can't exactly expect that much from the airport of a small eastern Canadian city. The ceilings are quite low in most places, but overall just feels like a shrunken version of any other airport.
Got off my flight only to find my luggage marked priority was not there. I know it's not the fault of the airport it's more the airline but what bothered me most was there were no personnel present to put in a complaint or help find it.
A small and efficient international airport serving Canada's oldest city. The staff are very friendly and I like how arrivals lead directly to car rental booths.
The airport has improved a lot in the last years. It went through a renovation process which improved both capacity (10+ gates) and quality.
The food and drink options may be limited outside the busy hours, but some options are still available during the busy times.
The airport is easily accessible by public transit from the city by line 14 for 2.5$ per ride. Just pay attention to the timetable as it's very limited during the weekends and holidays (up till 4pm).
The landside has several chairs for sleeping (not to confortable due to the armrest), but the air side has a wide range of un-divided chairs for an uninterrupted sleep. The issue is that the air side is not accessible during the night due to the limited number of flights during that time.
Additionally, the airport has some pet designated area in the air side; 2 children play areas are available (one in air side and other in land side).
